Impact on the Observer Metameric Failure by Adding a White Channel to RGB-Primary Display

Description:

Observer metamerism is a challenge for wide color gamut displays. Multi-primary display have been suggested to improve this but are costly to commercialize. One of the successful multi-primary displays is white OLED. This paper, it was studied how much the white sub-pixel of the white OLED could impact on the observer metamerism. At the narrower display spectrum, it was clear the observer metameric failure improved effectively by adding white sub-pixels.
