My name is YongSu Yoo. I am a senior embedded software engineer for the webOS Smart Television platform (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebOS) at LG Electronics. I have invented and developed various technologies that reduce the manufacturing cost of TVs, enhance performance, and improve user experience. My main area of expertise is designing the software interfaces for device drivers that connect platform software companies and hardware manufacturers. I am currently developing device driver software libraries that, when distributed to hardware companies, reduce their development burden for webOS device drivers. This approach enables more hardware companies to adopt webOS, helping to expand the webOS ecosystem.
I also worked at LG Display as an ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) analog and digital circuit designer, focusing on timing controller ICs, source driver ICs, and DC/DC converters for OLED and LCDs. I invented and developed various display driving methods that reduce manufacturing costs, lower power consumption, and improve the performance and picture quality of display panels and their semiconductor driver ICs.
I received my Master's degree from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea in 2004. I graduated from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea with a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Electronics, Electronic Communication, and Electromagnetic Wave Engineering in 2002. My studies focused on OLED and LCD display panels, display driver IC chip design, single-crystalline silicon materials used in the fabrication of driver IC chips, and polycrystalline silicon materials used in the fabrication of display glass panels.
